We’re planning convenient, local retail at the heart of Kangaroo Point.

Woolworths has lodged a Development Application with Brisbane City Council seeking approval for a new Woolworths Metro, specialty stores, office spaces and apartments at the largely vacant site bounded by Ferry, Deakin and Prospect Streets, Kangaroo Point.

Woolworths Metro stores are designed to service a walk-up catchment, to encourage shopping closer to home. With a focus on quality fresh and healthy food options at affordable prices, Woolworths Metro stores are tailored for local customers looking for a quick and easy walk-up shopping experience.

Local retail

The proposal will provide local retail, within easy walking distance for many Kangaroo Point residents. This will reduce the need for residents to travel outside of the suburb to shop.

Planning assessment phase

The project is in the planning assessment phase, with a Development Application (DA) lodged with Council.

New local jobs

The project will create around 120 jobs during construction and around 100 ongoing retail jobs when open.
